Cabling and Bracing
Have you got a beloved tree in your backyard that looks like it’s about to fall over? As trees grow sometimes they can start to fail and split apart, which leads to large limbs falling and causing damage, but can also end up killing the tree as it falls apart. In most cases the easiest option is just to remove the limb or the whole tree, but if that tree has sentimental meaning or you just prefer to save the tree, cabling and bracing is an option to help control the tree and get it back to its original stability. We use special hardware to tie it all together and keep your tree in a secure position as it continues to grow.
Stabilizing Trees Often the reason trees start to fail as they grow is because of outside influences, usually it’s a fence that has caused a tree to grow on a funny angle which inhibits the branches from growing in a traditional manner and ending up causing the tree to split and break. When this happens, you can either remove the tree or attempt to stabilize it using hardware like cables and braces to lock the limbs into position and help train the tree into growing the right way. We have experts that know exactly where to put the cables and braces to help lock a tree and ensure it doesn’t do any further harm to itself. Hardware The hardware used to help stabilize a tree usually involves a cable which is anchored to a tree to help support it, or a brace which is often a threaded rod that is bolted against the tree in key points to help lock down the limbs and prevent them from growing in directions that they shouldn’t. We only use high quality stainless steel hardware to prevent from rusting and weaknesses developing in the hardware over time, leaving you with the most reliable solution possible for your beloved tree. Tree Assessment Before any cabling or bracing project begins we need to properly assess the tree, working out where it is at its weakest and equipping it with the right hardware in the right places. Our team of experts have been doing this for years and know exactly what is required to help control the growth of a tree. Allow us to assess your tree and make sure that the job is done properly the first time. Ongoing Maintenance Cabling and bracing can sometimes be a one off service. but more often than not the tree needs to be readjusted over the years to make sure it’s growing along the right path and hasn’t got more problems that have popped up over the years. We can provide an ongoing service that involves us coming back to check over the tree as it ages to make sure that the cabling or bracing has been doing its job and is placed in the right position along the trees trunk and limbs. |
