Stump Removal and Grinding
Removing a tree in your backyard can make a huge difference visually, opening the space up and giving you more space to enjoy your yard. The problem is that when you remove a tree (depending on the size) the stump doesn’t always go with it. Often you have to cut the tree low down to the bottom of the trunk to remove it, but that stump can be a nightmare to remove! If it’s a larger stump you can be there for days digging around it trying to lift it out of the ground, as trees can sometimes have huge root networks the stumps can be extremely difficult to remove. Instead of battling for hours and even days with a shovel trying to remove the stump, let us handle the problem in less than an hour with our specialist stump removal service.
Equipment If you’ve just removed a tree as a small weekend activity, you might be riding the high of a successful DIY project and try to attempt removing the stump along with it - you may just find out why stump removal is one of our most popular services though. Removing a stump, even from a small tree, can often seem like an impossible task when performed by hand. We use special stump grinding tools to grind away the tree stump bit by bit until there is nothing left. Process Our process of stump removal involves a bit more than just turning on the machine and getting to work. We make sure to inspect the stump itself and the area surrounding it - we don’t want any hidden metal stakes or other objects that could have grown into the stump to be laying around and damage our equipment. We then get started on the stump grinding, slowly but methodically removing all the material of the stump above the soil, making sure that nothing is left above the surface of the soil. Clean Up The mess that is left after removing a tree can be considerable to clean up - with a stump removal it can be even more so! We try to clean as we go but at the end there will be a lot of wood chips and chunks leftover that we will attend to. These chips are actually fantastic for the garden, and can even be used to fill in the hole that is left where the stump was. We can leave the leftover chips for you to reuse if you wish, otherwise we can take it with us and leave you with a nice and clear backyard. Root Removal Often when removing a stump we stop a few inches below the surface of the soil, but if you have plans to use the area in way that any hidden roots below the surface will get in the way, we can go deeper with the stump removal and remove any large roots near to the surface for you so you can use the area appropriately. |
